In the development of a military operation of territorial control carried out with dominant intelligence by troops of the Twenty-eighth Brigade of the Colombian Army in coordination with the SIJIN of the Colombian Police and inter-institutional with the CTI of the Attorney General’s Office, three searches were carried out in the site known as El Puerto, in the urban area of the Municipality of Puerto Carreño, Vichada.
As a result of this operation, seven alleged members of the organized criminal group known as Los Caparros or Los Tomas were captured. According to initial investigations, these people were responsible for the exchange and transnational commercialization of narcotics in small quantities and the purchase and sale of stolen items, especially cell phones, with other organizations in neighboring Venezuela.
The captured persons had in their possession 105 grams of marijuana, 20 grams of cocaine, a digital grammer, several cell phones, three of them were recovered due to the reports made by the owners, a tablet and cash that would be the product of drug sales.
These persons were placed at the disposal of the competent authorities for the crimes of conspiracy to commit drug trafficking, trafficking, manufacture or carrying of narcotics, aggravated theft and receiving.
