Colombian Army has provided security to vehicles with more than 9,000 tons of food for Valle del Cauca in Colombia

Nearly 190 soldiers who, in addition to guarding the roads so that vehicles with foodstuffs can circulate peacefully, assist in loading and unloading foodstuffs.

The Colombian Army continues to guarantee the supply chain and productivity in the city of Cali and its neighboring municipalities in the development of military assistance tasks, in support of the defense of the civil authority.

Thus, since last week, the Army has been accompanying cargo vehicles transporting food and basic necessities, in order to contribute to food security and economic development in the region.

Jointly and in coordination with the Police and the Air Force, more than 9,000 tons of food, mainly vegetables, meat, dairy products, grains and groceries, have been transported to the Central de Abastecimientos del Valle del Cauca, CAVASA and the satellite galleries in Cali.

These basic necessities have been mobilized in about 500 trucks and cargo vehicles, which have arrived thanks to a complete security device organized by the National Army with the objective of guaranteeing the supply to the citizens.

Likewise, the uniformed officers have supported the local merchants with the loading and unloading of the elements, in order to speed up the movement and allow the food to arrive fresh and quickly to the table of the people of Cali and the neighboring municipalities.
